About

Hello, my name is John ‘Austin’ Brasher and I currently serve as the Associate Director for Sports Performance at Loyola Marymount University (LMU). In my current role, I oversee the strength and conditioning programs for the LMU Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer, Beach Volleyball, and Men’s Tennis. These programs include speed training, resistance training, plyometrics, fitness, flexibility and mobility, and recovery. Each program is designed to enhance each athlete’s genetic potential while preparing them for the demands of their sport.

After attending Whittier College for four years, where I played and earned All-SCIAC Honors on the school’s football team, I immediately began an Athletic Performance Internship at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in the Summer/Fall of 2017. It was here that I found my love for coaching and a hunger to help athletes reach their full potential. I was also fortunate enough to work directly with the 2018 NCAA Championship Gymnastics team, as well as the 2017 Women’s Soccer NCAA Championship Runner Up. After completing the internship at UCLA, I became an Intern Coach for the University of Southern California (USC) Strength and Conditioning Program in the Spring of 2018. It was here that I had the opportunity to work with USC’s Football team, and other sports including Baseball, Women’s Soccer, Women’s Lacrosse, Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving, and the eventual 2018 NCAA Men’s Water Polo National Champions.

After departing USC, I served as the Graduate Assistant Sports Performance Coach for Olympic Sports at Northwestern University (NU). It was here that I oversaw the training programs for Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving, Women’s Fencing, and Women’s Cross Country/Track. After a year in this role I accepted an Assistant Sports Performance Coach at LMU, and returned back home to California. I held this position until the Spring of 2021, after which I was promoted to the Associate Director for Sports Performance and I currently work with our Beach Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, and Men’s Tennis teams.

The foundation of Brash Elite Performance Training is Movement.
